Fourth of July race
The Deerfield Rotary Club hosted its 47th annual 10K race on 4 July. The weather was perfect!!
Many current and former Deerfield High School runners run the race annually as a way to get together with old friends, as do some of the more senior runners. Some of these young people are now running for their universities, some are in business in Illinois and other states. Talk about fun and fellowship!
Our thanks to our helpers for this event: Janice Becker, Victor Carnelli, Barry Clark, Melanie Duguid, Peter Fitzgerald, Barry Gray, William Napp, Barbara Struthers, Arlyn Tratt, Ryan Twose, and Carl Johnson, who sent two excellent volunteers from Trinity college! An extra special thanks to Sunset Foods, which provided the refreshments for runners and support us in so many ways.
Abby Osborn was the overall women’s winner with a time of 45.46. Alex Gold was the men’s winner with a time of 33.05. Download the full results.
